We are seeking someone who loves local journalism, has a strong interest in society, and good knowledge of how municipalities and other public organizations operate. You understand local power structures and have the ability to place events in a larger context.

Smålandsposten covers the entire Kronoberg County based in Växjö, where you will find your new workplace. From the newsroom in Växjö, you will look out over the entire county to find the right places to dig and the best stories to tell.

At Smålandsposten, you will have the chance to work with driven colleagues, both locally and broadly within Gota Media. As a group, Gota Media offers cross-border collaborations between the foundation's sister newspapers and all newspapers within Bonnier News Local, including in the form of a joint investigative team.

Who are you?

• You master different types of storytelling and can move between video, written word, and audio formats. You choose the right format based on how the story is best told.
• You are used to handling sources, requesting public documents, and using digital tools for research.
• You have a strong interest in society and are driven by asking the tough questions.
• You have judgment, take responsibility for your tasks, and understand the importance of meeting deadlines.
• You can switch between quick jobs and in-depth investigations.
• You have good local knowledge.
• You enjoy working in a team.

Qualifications:

• Journalistic education or equivalent.
• The position requires experience, so you need to have worked for a few years as a reporter.
• You have documented experience in investigative journalism.
• Experience in publishing news in text, image, audio, and video.

Job Responsibilities

A 100% position as an investigative reporter, alternating with quick tasks as needed. The work takes place from the newsroom in Växjö.
